Hello! It's Osamu, your manga blogger.
Dandadan is currently exploding in popularity all over the world thanks to the anime adaptation! If there's one thing that defines the battles in this series, it's the incredible "sense of speed."
The protagonist, Okarun (Ken Takakura), transforms using the power of "Turbo Granny." His greatest weapon is simple yet unbeatable: "Super High-Speed Movement."
So, I came up with a little hypothetical scenario:
"What if the speedsters from Shonen Jump series all had a race together?"
The Engines of My Hero Academia, the Thunder of Demon Slayer... Against such a lineup of powerhouses, how far can our Okarun go!? Here is the "Jump's Fastest Runner Decider," chosen purely by Osamu's personal bias! Start!
[Dandadan] Can Okarun become Jump's fastest!? Serious racing ranking with "HeroAca" and "Demon Slayer" speedsters
4th Place: Tenya Iida (My Hero Academia)
Quirk: Engine / Move: Recipro Turbo
First up is the representative honors student of Jump, Ingenium, aka Iida-kun. The acceleration produced by the engines in his calves is just like a sports car. Especially when "Recipro Turbo" is activated, his top speed is at a level that even Pro Heroes struggle to track with their eyes. However, because he needs to cool down his engines and his movements are fundamentally linear, compared to the "unreasonable" folks ranked higher, he still obeys the laws of physics somewhat (lol). So, he takes this spot!
3rd Place: Zenitsu Agatsuma (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba)
Breathing Style: Thunder Breathing, First Form: Thunderclap and Flash - Godspeed
Zenitsu, the man who embodies the speed of "Thunder." His speed is less like "running" and more like "teleportation." The moment he draws his sword, he is already in the opponent's space, slicing their neck. That velocity is truly like a lightning bolt. Especially in his "Godspeed" mode, he was at a level where even Upper Rank demons couldn't react. However! Because the strain on his legs from continuous use is too great, and he specializes in "short-distance bursts," Okarun might actually have the advantage in a long-distance race...?
2nd Place: Okarun (Dandadan)
Ability: Curse of Turbo Granny (100km/h Granny)
Coming in at rank 2! Our very own Okarun! The original urban legend of Turbo Granny is that she "runs at 100 km/h," but Okarun in the series is clearly faster than that. Running vertically up the sides of buildings, sliding along power lines, and engaging in aerial battles at speeds invisible to the naked eye—his mobility is insane. Above all, Okarun's strength lies in his "instant braking control" and "three-dimensional movement." He's not just fast; his sense for running through a city full of obstacles like he's doing parkour is top-tier in Jump history. Plus, his obsession with getting his "balls" (family jewels) back makes him accelerate even further! (lol)
1st Place: Koro-sensei (Assassination Classroom)
Top Speed: Mach 20
...Sorry, but this wall was just too thick (lol). As a character who physically "runs (or flies)" with his own body, Mach 20 (approx. 24,500 km/h) is just cheating. Okarun and Zenitsu are fast, but naturally, they can't beat an octopus that is faster than a fighter jet. He literally flies to Hawaii during his lunch break just to grab tea. I wonder how many spirits Okarun needs to absorb to reach this realm...
[Conclusion] Okarun is one of the top speedsters of "Modern Jump"!
While the Mach 20 monster was in a league of his own, among supernatural battle manga set in the modern day, Okarun's speed depiction is undoubtedly top-class.
Especially when it comes to "how cool the posing looks when speeding," purely personally, Okarun takes the gold medal! That hunched-over dashing posture is addictive to watch, isn't it?
Who do you think is "Jump's Fastest"? "Kizaru (One Piece) is faster!" "What about Killua's (HxH) Godspeed?" Please let me know your thoughts in the comments!
See you in the next blog post! Osamu out.
