[Chainsaw Man] Who is the Strongest!? Top 10 Character Power Rankings [My Personal Bias]
Hello everyone, it’s Osamu, your manga blogger!
When it comes to the appeal of Chainsaw Man, it has to be the unreasonably powerful devils and the blood-soaked battles, right?
"So, who is actually the strongest?" "Who’s on top: Makima or the Gun Devil?"
For those asking these questions, today I’m presenting my "Top 10 Strongest Characters Ranking," chosen completely based on my own personal bias and opinions! I’ve considered everything from Part 1, Part 2 (as far as currently revealed), and the depictions in the movie Reze Arc.
I fully accept any and all objections! (lol) Alright, let’s start the countdown!
No. 10: Samurai Sword (Katana Man)
First up is the early boss, Samurai Sword. The initial speed of his "Iai" (quick draw) is terrifying, and he sliced Denji in half multiple times. However, because the top-tier characters are just too monstrous, he lands in this spot. He’s simply cool, isn't he?
No. 9: Reze (Bomb Devil)
The "Bomb Girl" who went on a rampage in the movie. Wide-range explosions, mobility, and martial arts—she is top-class in all categories. Her combat sense, which allowed her to toy with Denji and Beam, is genius. Countless readers fell for the gap between her "fleeting nature" and her "strength."
No. 8: Kishibe
When you speak of "Humanity's Strongest," it’s this guy. The powers of the devils he has contracts with (Claw, Knife, Needle) are negligible, but he goes toe-to-toe with Fiends and Hybrids using his years of experience and insane mental fortitude. He embodies the saying, "Devils fear those with a few screws loose." He is just too cool.
No. 7: Quanxi (The First Devil Hunter)
The assassin from China. Her strength lies in her "absurd speed." Even in human form, she overwhelmed Captain Kishibe. Once transformed, she slices up everything around her at speeds invisible to the naked eye. Her skills are still very much alive in Part 2. Honestly, there probably isn't a human alive who can beat her.
No. 6: Santa Claus (Darkness Power Ver.)
This is her state after consuming a piece of the Darkness Devil's flesh in Hell. Invincible in the dark, instant regeneration upon taking damage, and turning anyone she touches into a doll... she has stats worthy of a final boss in an RPG. If Denji hadn't come up with such a "crazy method" (lighting himself on fire with gasoline), he absolutely never would have won.
No. 5: Gun Devil
The symbol of humanity's fear. It killed tens of thousands of people within seconds of appearing. Its "scale of killing ability" is number one in the series. Although it was defeated by Makima, that was when its body was already scattered. If it were at 100% power, it might have ended the world.
No. 4: Makima (Control Devil)
The final boss of Part 1. Her ability to "control anyone she recognizes as lesser than herself" is just too broken (OP). Furthermore, thanks to her contract with the Prime Minister, she is practically immortal, as "attacks are converted into illnesses or accidents affecting random Japanese citizens." To kill her, it required "Love" (in the form of predation) from someone like Denji.
No. 3: Falling Devil
One of the "Primal Fears" that appeared in Part 2. A chef who manipulates gravity on a global scale and launches mental attacks by digging up past traumas. Physical attacks are almost meaningless, and her regeneration ability is abnormal. This is not an opponent humanity can win against.
No. 2: Chainsaw Man (Pochita True Form / The Hero of Hell)
The "Hero of Hell" who was feared most by devils in the underworld. He possesses a god-like ability to erase the names (concepts) of the devils he eats from existence. His combat power is overwhelming, even against Makima and all the Weapon Hybrids combined. The irrationality of "Call for help and he comes, but he kills the devil that attacked you and chops you up too" is just the best.
No. 1: Darkness Devil
Taking the undisputed number one spot is, of course, this entity. A transcendent being, representing a Primal Fear. It dismantled the Devil Hunters who descended into Hell without lifting a finger, just by "staring" or "speaking." Even Makima could only manage to land a hit before choosing to flee. It is "the death and darkness that living things feel by instinct," and right now, I can't picture any scenario where this devil is defeated.
Conclusion: The Despair of Knowing "There is Always Someone Stronger"
How was it? Listing them out like this really shows how hopeless the world of Chainsaw Man is (lol). The balance where even Kishibe, the strongest human, can't even touch the top tier creates that nerve-wracking tension in this series.
Who do you think is the "Strongest"? Let me know in the comments!
